I used Photoshop to combine buildings in Leicester that I didn't like. In my collage, I have included the Premier Inn building. This is because the colours don't really work since the bright blue building is around old buildings and it makes it look modern and misplaced for the area. The windows are also terrible as the colours are really strange and they look untidily placed. With the space centre, It looks better than other buildings however, it is too modern for the area that it is in. The colour of it is dull and the shape of it can be confusing to what it actually is. I do prefer the Victorian building to the others however to me, the bottom half of it looks a bit ragged and antiquated. Belgrave hall is extremely old and it looks like it is wearing away. The colour of it is dull and it doesn't look entirely interesting.
If I were to change this image, I would change the shapes and colours of the building to make it more realistic. I used the warp tool to merge the buildings in Leicester onto an old street to make it look like an ugly street of buildings. I also had to use a transform tool to resize the buildings to make them the right size. Then, I used the perspective tool to make the buildings go onto a slant so they fitted correctly.
New Leicester
In the image below, we used the same concept as the old Leicester collage however instead of buildings we don't like, we used buildings that we thought would look good in Leicester. The Showcase cinema and John Lewis are modern buildings that were put into city centre to make it drag in tourists. In my opinion, I think they look appealing as they're different and stand out. The New York Skyline would look really cool in Leicester as it is bold and can go all the way down Belgrave road. Furthermore, the Eiffel Tower would also bring a vibe to Leicester as it is different and eye-catching.
I had to use the 'magic wand' tool to get rid of the background so I could put it onto this northern light scene. I did this to give it a futuristic and interesting look. I transformed the buildings to resize them and I had to put the Eiffel Tower layer on top of the other layers so that it appeared to be in front.
